Current list of Accredited STAA Shiatsu Practitioners

This list is to assist members of the public to find an accredited shiatsu therapist / practitioner in their area. Use the tool on the right to select your state. A list will appear showing practitioners grouped by locality.  As an accredited member of the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Australia (STAA), each therapist/practitioner must have successfully completed an accredited training program for a Diploma of Shiatsu and Oriental Therapies, which is currently the highest recognised standard within Australia.
Members on the Register of the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Australia must annually demonstrate that:

• They carry Professional Indemnity Insurance;
• Hold a current Level 2 First Aid Certificate;
• Comply with Continuing Professional Education and Development (CPE&D) standards as set out by STAA.

What to look for when finding a Therapist / Practitioner

Each individual practitioner’s approach to treatments differs so feel free to quiz the therapist about their style and practice. For example:

• How long have they been practicing for? 
• How many treatments are required? 
• Can you claim Health Rebates? 
• Do they have experience in treating certain conditions? 
• What are their charges?
• I have never had a Shiatsu treatment what do I do?
