About STAAEstablished in 1987, the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Australia Inc. (STAA) is the national peak body representing shiatsu therapists. STAA is dedicated to expanding the awareness and recognition of shiatsu in the Australian community and its integration into the healthcare system. STAA is governed by the National Council - made up of Student, Associate and Registered members.
The National Council and many long standing members have contributed to sustained research and lobbying to have Shiatsu recognised in the Australian healthcare system. We have a dedicated Admin Officer who is also an experienced shiatsu practitioner - supporting members in their professional life and connecting those interested in shiatsu with local therapists. Partnership with Private Health Insurance funds is an ongoing part of STAA’s work on behalf of members. The Policy and Guidelines Handbook is reviewed and updated by the National Council. 2024 Annual report |
